How to Apply

Transfer Credit
We accept transfer of up to 90 credits from any accredited college. Students can use our prior learning assessment program to apply for up to 30 credits for unaccredited ministry training and experience, or bring in credit by examination from ACE, CLEP, DANTES, Excelsior and NCCR. Students only need to complete their last 30 credits (out of 120 credits) with City Vision to receive a degree.

Financial Aid
Qualifying students can get their tuition fully covered by Pell grants or use Federal loans or GI Bill benefits. Full time students receiving a full Pell Grant of $5,815 can pay their $3,500 tuition and still have $2,315 left to use for personal expenses (including TUMI courses).

An Opportunity for TUMI's Capstone Graduates

Our 8-week online courses start 5 times a year and combine the benefits of on-site experience with the convenience of distance learning. Our students typically want to work in the nonprofit sector, counseling, government or ministry. We are an open admissions school accepting any student with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent. Our students are 60% women and 41% people of color (29% African American, 6% Latino, 2% Native American, 1% Asian). We have students as young as 18, and some who are 60 or over, with an average age of 40. 79% of our students receive Pell grants.

City Vision College is a nonprofit Christian college established in 1998. Our vision is to provide radically affordable practical Christian education to help transform at-risk communities. All of our faculty have at least Master's degrees and are current or past practitioners in their fields.

Designed for Flexibility

Students completing some or all of TUMI’s training modules can apply for a credit evaluation of up to 30 credits for past ministry training or experience through a portfolio process.

How it works:

  1. You take an online course that trains you to document your learning in a portfolio.
  2. You pay City Vision $350 for a 3 credit portfolio course that enables the review of up to 30 college credits from TUMI courses.

City Vision follows the prior learning assessment standards of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL). A key aspect of these standards is that credit is granted for demonstrating learning, not just having experience. Credit can be granted both for experience and for training in unaccredited programs. Credit is not guaranteed, as students must demonstrate competency according to our assessment process based on CAEL standards.
