I believe that most TUMI satellites are using a two-hour-a-week-for-eight-weeks format to teach the Capstone modules (although note Frank Schultz's post in the "Curriculum" discussion forum that TUMI-Newark is using a 12 week format).
As far as I know, there have been few discussions on what the time breakdown for the two hour class sessions of a Capstone module should (or could) look like. Our freedom on this point as mentors is a beautiful thing, but it also is helpful to hear what others are doing in the two hour blocks of time when using an eight week format.
Attached is a suggested time breakdown that we give new mentors at TUMI-LA. We revise it as we get feedback from mentors, and input from other satellites.
There are three pages:
1) A suggested "First Week" time breakdown.
2) A "Week two" or a "non-quiz" time breakdown.
3) A "week three" or "quiz" time breakdown.
I would be interested in your feedback on these schedules, and on how you are structuring your time in an eight week format. Hank
